Revealing the Medal Making Process

Make Your Own Medal. Have you ever wondered what goes into creating a high-quality custom medal? The journey from a raw piece of metal to a treasured symbol of victory is a meticulous process, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Understanding this process builds confidence and shows why not all medals are created equal.

The Journey of a Custom Medal: Our Core Manufacturing Process

Artigiftsmedals takes every medal seriously. Upon receiving the design logo/artwork from a client, we first provide Free Artwork Design for them. After you confirm the design, we will proceed with production. Before mass production, we will first make a medal sample and send it to you for inspection. Only after obtaining your approval and satisfaction will we carry out large-scale production.

Stamping: Deal for intricate details and a refined finish. We take a metal sheet (typically brass or copper) and strike it with a heavy press using a custom-made die. This process creates crisp, clean lines and a smooth surface. Die-struck medals are known for their precision and durability, making them perfect for classic, elegant designs.

Die Casting: Our go-to for complex 3D designs and cut-outs. Die casting involves injecting molten zinc alloy into a custom mold. This allows us to create multi-level, highly detailed medals with intricate shapes that are not possible with stamping. This method is particularly popular for modern, sculptural medal designs.

After the medal is formed, it moves to the finishing stage. The most common finishes are created through electroplating, where we apply a thin layer of metal—such as gold, silver, or bronze—to the medal's surface. This process not only provides a beautiful, durable finish but also prevents tarnishing.

Soft Enamel: This is our most popular choice. We fill the recessed areas of the design with liquid enamel and then bake it to harden. The raised metal lines create a clear separation between colors, giving the medal a tactile, textured feel.

Hard Enamel (Imitation Enamel): For a more premium, glass-like finish, we use hard enamel. The enamel is polished flush with the metal lines, creating a perfectly smooth, durable surface.

Translucent Enamel: This is a fantastic option for adding a unique touch. The enamel allows the texture of the metal underneath to show through, creating a stunning see-through effect that adds depth and sophistication.

The last step is a final quality check and polish before the medals are carefully packaged. Every step, from the initial die creation to the final inspection, is done with an eye for detail, ensuring that each medal we produce is a masterpiece worthy of a champion.
